Born and raised in Germany, Mathias Rickert moved to the San Francisco Bay Area in 2001 to pursue postdoctoral studies in Biochemistry at Stanford University. He earned his PhD in Immunology and Protein Biochemistry from the University of Heidelberg in 2000 and went on to build a successful 16-year career in the biotech industry, specializing in protein biochemistry and analytics for pre-clinical development.
Mathias’s journey into real estate began in 2016 when he started investing as a limited partner in multifamily housing, self-storage, commercial properties, and private money lending. After nearly a decade of gaining first-hand investment experience, he earned his California real estate license in 2025 to bring his expertise to a wider range of clients.
With a strong scientific background, Mathias brings an analytical, detail-oriented, and problem-solving mindset to real estate. His ability to evaluate data, manage complex projects, and communicate clearly helps clients feel confident throughout the buying, selling, or investing process. He also leverages his professional network within the biotech community, offering unique insight for those with commercial real estate needs.
Curious, professional, and thoughtful in his approach, Mathias is dedicated to listening carefully to each client’s goals and guiding them with strategic solutions. Inspired by people who embrace new beginnings, he is passionate about helping clients navigate change, whether it’s purchasing a first home, selling a property, or expanding an investment portfolio.
Outside of real estate, Mathias enjoys traveling, staying active, and spending time with friends and family. A native German speaker, he values both cultural connection and the importance of having a place to call home.
