Commercial Real Estate Advisor

Born in New Jersey and raised in Southern California’s San Gabriel Valley, David Kwan’s journey to the Bay Area began eight years ago when his wife matched to a residency program at Stanford. Since then, the Bay Area has become home, providing the perfect backdrop for both his professional growth and personal pursuits.

David’s academic background is rooted in science and public health. He earned his B.S. in Physiological Sciences from UCLA, followed by an M.P.H. in Epidemiology from the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities. He further specialized in Public Health Informatics through a fellowship at the University of Washington. Before transitioning into real estate, he built a career in public health research, informatics, and health IT management.

His shift to real estate was inspired by his research on food retailers and their impact on community health—particularly childhood obesity. David realized he wanted to be part of the solution rather than just studying the problem. The shelter-in-place period reinforced his belief in the importance of public and commercial spaces for fostering healthy communities and thriving businesses.

Now approaching two years as a full-time real estate professional, David applies his strong analytical skills to help clients navigate the market with precision and care. He is known for being kind, thoughtful, and conscientious in both his work and personal life.

Outside of real estate, David stays active in the community. He plays ice hockey in the San Mateo league and helps organize cultural events in his neighborhood. His hobbies include cycling, trail running, tennis, and basketball. He’s also an avid consumer of podcasts and audiobooks, with Atomic Habits by James Clear being a personal favorite.

David’s guiding philosophy is simple yet powerful: Be the change. Whether in real estate, public health, or his personal life, he remains committed to making a meaningful impact.
